Food + AI Hackathon Series
24 hour builds pairing food operators with engineers. Atlanta, NYC, Mexico City. Filled three rooms in three cities.
The food industry has the problems. The tech world has the talent. The missing ingredient is a format that puts them in the same room, fast, solving real problems under real constraints. That’s the Food + AI Hackathon — a series I run with Journey Foods, with partners like Microsoft, Lovable, and Georgia Tech.
No polish, no PowerPoint. An operator hands a room of builders a real, unpolished problem — food waste bleeding a restaurant’s margins, a distributor losing money to manual data entry — and 24 hours later there’s working code. In Mexico City a team shipped a restaurant food-waste tracker; in New York a procurement prototype went straight onto the partner’s implementation roadmap.
Food is hyperlocal, so we build with local operators, not for them. Atlanta at Science Square Labs, New York during Climate Week, Mexico City during Tech Week — and expanding.
